National Historian - Gwenda Schroeder-Zulch

Ohio's Own to Serve as the National Historian

During the 90th Anniversary Convention held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this August Ohio's very own Gwenda Schroeder-Zulch was elected to the prestigious office of the American Legion Auxiliary as National Historian. Gwenda will join the ranks of three other Ohio Ladies who also served in this position; Mrs. Lester Nimon, Mrs Warren Griggs and Mrs. Phyllis Nickoson. The Ohio delegation was so very proud when Mrs. Miriam Junge, Honorary Past National President, read aloud Gwenda's nomination speech.

Upon her election Gwenda took the podium, where she so graciously thanked her home state of OHIO for all of their support. She ensured all those present that History was her passion and being elected to the position of Historian was one she will not take lightly. Her goal is to support the National President in all her endeavors, all the while ensuring we capture our historic moments and historic changes.

Gwenda is a member of Freedom Unit 183 for 19 years and a member of Wood County Salon 741 8&40. She is married to Richard Zulch, Past NEC Department of Ohio American Legion. She has two children, Nelson (Stacy) Zulch, Michael (Sharon) Schroeder and six grandchildren, Shelby, Zoey, Kyle, Logan, Walker and Evan.

Gwenda is eligible for membership through the service of her late father-George J. Schroeder-United States Coast Guard in World War II. Gwenda is dedicated to the programs and the future of the American Legion Auxiliary.
